Paulina Gretzky has arrived on the scene consequent to her most powerful surname and her equally evident bodaciousness. While her Twitter imaging must have been problematic for her Dad, Wayne, what price fame? No stranger to oddball public exposure, vis-s-vis his wife's (Janet Jones) alleged involvement in a gambling ring, the hockey legend remains a cool cat. Nonetheless, firebrand Paulina pushes the envelope.
Perhaps the telling issue is the change social media has rashed society. For example, this blog and all of the many, many other ones allow people to express, to emote and to espouse ad lib. Good thing? Indeed, yes... it's called free speech. Despite that, the notion of the social media construct is awkward for traditionalists. Yet, like a tsunami, the wave of social media is too muscular to contain.
So, take P Gretzky's tweeting for face value (and other values, too.) After all, she is a 24 year old model and singer. No doubt she has the tools to model... but can she sing? A YouTube search for her recording Collecting Dust is devoid of her performing her tune. Well, hmmmm... but she sure looks outstanding in her tweets.
Banned from tweeting by Dad, the unsinkable Ms. Gretzky moved over to Instagram. Interestingly Instagram, a company with 13 employees, has been acquired by Facebook for one billion USD. What's up with that? This loophole (Wayne never forbade Instagram!) has allowed her to continue to image distribute and to promote herself with unbridled sensuality. To wit..
