The chances of an incumbent President being re-elected are good. In the main, it is hard to unseat the man with the loudest megaphone. Indeed. In order for an incumbent to get knocked out, the voters have to be disenfranchised ENOUGH. It can happen. Ask J. Carter and G. Bush 41 how to take the pipe.
B.H. Obama came into office with a mandate. In 2008 he was golden. The Obamate could have done pretty much anything he wanted to do early on. He wasted a great opportunity to change health care. Instead, he monkeyed around pandering to the already avaricious special interests and then he tried to be a conciliator with the GOP. Well, that all led to nothing meaningful. He needed to put through a single payer, universal health care system which would have made America at the least, humane.
Bush 43 left him an economic mess. Having built his propriety on a bogus, inflated and corrupted housing bubble, Dubya gave Obama a great chance to be a hero. Well, that has not happened. Under BHO, the federal government has behaved liked a gambler in ruin. Borrowing here, there and everywhere, the USA is in default. Now faced with raising the credit limit to stay solvent, the Reds and Blues continue asinine bickering, spitting and spasming. For his part, the Obamer is clueless. Without any control, he does what he is good at.. Talking. He continues to do just that. Talk... And talk. Yak-Yak.
The youth movement, which helped propel the native Hawaiian into office, is all but marooned. Without jobs, the 25-35 crowd still live at home. The jobs are gone, perhaps forever. Running an unemployment rate of 9.1% (and everybody knows that # is underinflated), things are soft. Did the Obama-ster think that college graduates would want to build roads? It is doubtful that BO can get that group back to pull his lever. In addition, the Obamalator's failure to STILL not have a cogent energy policy in place has come back to bite America's arse. Helpless to respond to the ongoing yinging of the OPEC-adors, the red-white-blue lemmings pay through their noses for fuel. In short, the high energy costs act as an undue tax which depresses the economy and any chance of recovery. $75 to fill the tank bites. When was the last time the O's filled up? Bought milk? Tried to budget?
And then there are the WARS. Wars, now there's a misnomer. Wars are won or lost. In both of Obama's wars (YES they are HIS now), America is idling. Spending suitcases of cash every minute of everyday is pointless, stupid even. There is no REAL movement to vamoose either Iraq or A-stan. About the only smart thing the Obamamundo has done on the military front has been his reluctance to do Libya. The French and Brits are doing a fine job with Mr. Quaddhafi without the Yankee touch. Fine, just fine.
Right now, right now if the Presidential election were held, the Obamski does not DESERVE to be re-elected. Now, be clear, he is a nice and decent man. But he is without the kind of leadership skills required to re-make America as a truly great country. Fortunately, he has a year and half to find his mojo. If the Republicans can find a fresh and appealing candidate to counter Barack's strength (charisma) , the GOP has a good chance of swinging back into power. Perhaps the old guard will continue to say Romney or Giuliani or Huckabee or Palin or Pawlenty .... As long as Paul Ryan isn't pushed forward, B. Hussein O. may be able to hold on. Maybe... (Huntsman has come up on the political radar, but he has a bad name.)
It's June. Summer is sneaking up fast. Big oil has brought gasoline prices down a bit. Americans are happy to pay $3.70 a gallon. Fools. Vacations are being planned. The rich folk are richer than ever, while the middles are out. As far as the poor, poor is poor. Speaking of vacations, where will the first family go to rest and to frolic this year? The Vineyard? Honolulu?, Gulf Coast?, Upper Michigan? Tijuana? Yabba-dabba...
