Christina Perri - Protostar

Christina Perri, a 23 year old Philadelphian, is a spunky singer. She made her national debut yesterday on the CBS Saturday morning segment, Second Cup Cafe. She sang a soulful tune entitled, "Jar of Hearts". In addition, on June 30th, her song was featured on the TV show, "So You Think You Can Dance". "Jar of Hearts" has already received national attention and it will be a springboard to Christina Perri's success.

When Ms. Perri was 21, as the story is told, she left the Delaware Valley with two suitcases and a guitar. She is a self taught musician, able to play both the piano and the guitar. Her forte, though, is her sensitive and soulful singing style. Describing her as a skinny and tattoed white girl in a large black woman's body, is a way to sense her tonal qualities. Up until the last few weeks, she promoted herself through her YouTube videos.

The door is now open for Christina Perri. Mainstream enthusiasm is a few steps from fruition. As soon as she signs a major recording deal, her name will become confused with the pop icon Katy Perry. The blurred line will end with their names, Ms. Perri is not really a California girl. And their singing styles are not to be confused.

At this point, artist Perri needs to strategize and make all of the right moves. She must to continue to write and work on her music. After all, that is her forte. It is equally critical that she not fall into the degradatory sinkholes of bad relationships, drugs and alcohol. Just ask Amy Winehouse how to take talent and a great voice and turn it into nothing. You go girl!
